Impact and Responsibility

Our goal is to make a positive and lasting impact on the world. This includes not only the well-being of our own team, but all of our stakeholders, from suppliers to end customers, as well as society at large. Treating people and resources with respect has been deeply ingrained in our DNA since our founding. With growth comes increased responsibility.

Making an impact through

Actions

1. Driving Worldwide Sustainability:

Production and Shipping

In a globalized production world, we have chosen to go our own way. We manufacture our CLEW® bindings ourselves in Weilheim, Bavaria. From there, we ship to more than 40 countries around the world. It goes without saying that we use environmentally friendly means of transportation such as rail and ship whenever possible.

2. Actively Minimizing Plastics:

Packaging and Production

Although we have to make certain parts out of plastic for safety reasons, we do our best to keep the amount of plastic used in our product packaging and production processes as low as possible. That's why we generally do not use coatings on our packaging. We also recycle many parts from previous production runs and are in the process of phasing out unnecessary plastic throughout our value chain, including actively raising the issue with our suppliers.

3. Empowering Inclusivity:

Promoting careers and inclusion

At CLEW®, we focus not only on environmental sustainability, but also on social responsibility for our teams and resources. Since 2020, we have been working together with Oberland Werkstätten GmbH to create customized offers for people with disabilities that focus on professional development. Through our cooperation, we want to offer people with disabilities in the greater Munich area attractive jobs in their neighborhoods and support and integrate them in the best possible way.

4. Leading by Example:

Safety Standards on the Slopes

As the first snowboard brand in the world, we have made a clear commitment to mandatory helmet use, and not just internally, but for everyone to see! We want to set a good example and focus on safety on the slopes. This decision has not been without consequences. Some of our team riders who were not willing to consistently wear a helmet had to leave. Other talents did not join us because of this. But what remains is what we value most: our unwavering values!
